Full Description

Tetney Hall Farm, Tetney. Extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of U plan. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. Located within a loose farmstead cluster. {1} A programme of trial trenching was conducted in November 2016 to inform proposed residential development on the south-east portion of the farmstead. The investigation uncovered evidence of an earlier complex of farm buildings for Tetney Hall Farm, which included the remains of a 17-18th century red brick structure with a brick floor, and a covered yard surface. Several later post-medieval linear features were also recorded, and finds of post-medieval pottery, brick, tile and glass were recovered. {2}{3}
