Former school. A building constructed of coursed stone with one façade of brick in English Garden Wall Bond, under a pitched gabled roof of concrete tiles with one ridge stack. To the west is an outbuilding constructed of brick and stone, under a pitched gabled roof of pantiles with a catslide to the south. One modern porch extension on the south elevation. Segmental arch window openings containing modern uPVC casement windows. Dentil course at eaves height. {1} Neither White's 1856 Trade Directory of Lincolnshire nor the 1872 Directory mention a school or a schoolmaster in the village. {2}{3} The 1887, 1906 and 1950 OS maps of the village depict this building as a school in its current plan form. {4}{5}{6} Records from the Lincolnshire Archives suggest that the school was 'recognised' as a Church of England Public Elementary school in 1873 and note that it 'appears' to have been closed in the summer of 1934, meaning that this date is inconclusive. {7}
