Full Description

The school is a late Victorian red-brick building which is present and listed as a school on both the 1887 and the 1907 OS maps of the village. {1}{2} The building has been substantially extended and modified in the 20th century but it retains the high-arched multi-level windows typical of a late Victorian school. {3} The school opened as Grasby National School and was rebuilt in 1855. It was known as Grasby CE School by 1911 and until at least 1973. Children over the age of 11 years were transferred to the new Caistor Senior School from 1938. Prior to 1999, the school was known as Grasby CE Primary School, since then it has been Grasby All Saints Primary School. {4} Rex Russell writes that the school was in financial difficulty in 1877 and the rector had to seek support from the community. In 1885, the fees were raised to threepence per week to children over seven. {5}T
