The remains of an infantry blockhouse were exposed in this location in October 2012, during groundworks for the renewal of the coastal flood defences between Tetney and Saltfleet. The structure had been partially dismantled and buried by the construction of the sea defences in this area. It was constructed of reinforced concrete with walls of brick, laid in stretcher bond. There were four internal chambers, with access steps leading to the inside at both ends. {1}{2}
