Full Description

A 19th century milestone located on West Road, near to the junction of the A151 and A6121. It is positioned in the verge, on the north side of the road. It is V-shaped in section with a gabled top. The left face of the stone is marked 'Bourn 1' while the right face is marked 'Colsterworth 11½'. In the gable of the front face is marked the name 'Bourn'. Whilst the Milestone Society Database records this milestone as being of cast iron, it is actually made of stone, and was refurbished and repainted in 2011. The stone was damaged in 2015, having been most likely struck by a car and knocked over. The stone was again repaired and had been restored by 2017. {1}{2}{3}
