Full Description

The remains of an east to west aligned ditch were recorded in this location in July 2008, during archaeological monitoring of new development on land at The Old Mill. The feature was sealed by layers of subsoil, suggesting it is of seom antiquity, although no finds were recovered from its fill, and no conclusive date could be suggested. Its alignment does accord well with the remains of medieval ridge and furrow, previously identified in this location (see PRN 51936), which may suggest an association. {1}{2}
