Full Description
The probable remains of a former late 19th century tennis lawn was recorded in this location in March 2015, during an earthwork survey conducted in advance of proposed development on land at Vale Road, Spilsby. The lawn was discernible as a rectangular flat area in the north-western part of the site. The 1st edition 6 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map depicts an unspecified rectangular feature in this area. This feature is not depicted on the later 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map, indicating the probable lawn was no longer in use by this time. {1}{2}{3}{4}
