Full Description

A photograph of the storehouse at The Old Rectory, Main Road, Thimbleby, was included in a programme of historic building recording, conducted in November 2012, prior to proposed alterations and conversion of the adjacent outbuildings. The structure is single-storey and is constructed of red brick with a gable slate roof. The building features three doorways on the northern elevation, each presumably leading into separate, small storage areas. The storehouse links the Old Rectory building, constructed in 1839, with a nearby mid to late 19th century former coach house range. The storehouse very likely post-dates both of the adjoining structures, although it is depicted on the 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map of 1905, suggesting a date of construction in the late 19th century. {1}{2}{3}
