Full Description

The coach house and stables building at Tathwell Grange was the subject of a building survey, conducted in April 2013 prior to its proposed conversion to a holiday let. The surveyed building likely dates from the 19th century and combines a two-storey coach house with single-storey stable wings to each side and a central covered wash-down area to the south. The building is of handmade red brick, mostly laid in an English Garden Wall bond, although a Flemish bond was used for the southern frontage. There are arched openings to the wash-down area to the south that is original and to the two stable wings to the north that are later additions. The windows have arched brick heads and the roof is of Welsh slate. The building has been altered several times since its construction, notably after the failure of its internal fabric, and much of the interior is not original. {1}
