Full Description

There is a windmill on Holbeach Road that is recorded on the Ordnance Survey drawing of 1812, and on the first edition one inch to the mile map of 1824. The mill is present on both the first and second edition Ordnance Survey County Series mapping of 1888 and 1905 (as Fulney Mill) although it is no longer present on the third edition map of 1932. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5} The old post windmill near Fulney Church was demolished in about 1915 because it had become unsafe. The owner was Mr W. B. Lowden. The sails were forty feet long. Before Mr Lowden the mill had been owned for many years by Mr Reynolds and was still known as Reynold's Mill. {6} White's Directory of 1856 records a mill owner called Allen Reynolds on Holbeach Road. {7}
