Full Description
Traces of medieval ridge and furrow were recorded in this area in June 2011, during magnetometry survey along selected parts of the proposed Covenham Water Treatment Works to Boston Transfer pipeline. The remains were identified as a series of parallel linear magnetic anomalies, mostly aligned on a roughly south-west to north-east axis. {1}
Additional traces of ridge and furrow were recorded in February 2012, during additional magnetometry survey along selected parts of the proposed Covenham Water Treatment Works to Boston Transfer pipeline. These remains were identified to the west of those originally recorded, and were again noted as parallel linear magnetic anomalies, this time aligned on a roughly north to south axis. {2}
