Full Description
Traces of medieval ridge and furrow were recorded to the north-west of Alvingham in June 2011, during magnetometry survey along selected parts of the proposed Covenham Water Treatment Works to Boston Transfer pipeline. The remains were identified as a series of parallel linear magnetic anomalies, aligned on a roughly north-east to south-west axis. A ditch-like magnetic anomaly was also recorded, aligned roughly perpendicular to the ridge and furrow, possibly representing a division in the field system. {1}
