Full Description

Medieval features were recorded in January 2012, during the archaeological monitoring of the groundworks for the construction of a new dwelling at Broadgate, Whaplode Drove. The features comprised a pit and ditch, both cut into a former buried soil. Sherds of mid 12th to mid 13th century pottery were recovered from both features and the buried soil layer, along with a small quantity of animal bone. An unstratified fragment of a 14th to 16th century whetstone was also recovered. {1}{2}
