Full Description
A pit and ditch of uncertain date were recorded in January 2012, during the archaeological monitoring of the groundworks for the construction of a new dwelling at Broadgate, Whaplode Drove. No dating evidence was recovered from either feature, although both were overlain by a medieval buried soil. The alignment of the ditch also matched that of the nearby Romano-British field system previously identified as cropmarks, indicating a possible Roman date for these features. {1}{2}
