Full Description

A large concentration of 150 sherds of Roman pottery were found in this area in 1979, during field walking on land at Ropsley Rise Wood. The pottery assemblage was largely comprised of 3rd century greyware, but other finds indicate a wider date range and included a 2nd century brooch and an ornate copper alloy seal box. {1}
