Full Description

A large concentration of over 850 sherds of Roman pottery were found in this area in 1979, during field walking on land to the south of Ropsley. Additional finds included two tile fragments, a glass bead and a bronze plate brooch. The finds were concentrated on a north facing slope of a narrow valley, adjacent to a small stream, in the general area of a dark soilmark. {1}
