Full Description

A brick outbuilding of likely 19th century date, at Bede Cottages, Orby Road, Addlethorpe. The outbuilding was surveyed in March 2014, as part of proposals to alter and extend the cottages. The building is a small two-bay structure, built of brick laid in a stretcher bond, and with a hipped pantile roof. The building has an internal brick partition, with entrances to each bay located on the southern elevation. A small brick walled pen or yard is attached to the west bay, with a small opening through the west bay wall, suggesting this bay was used as a poultry house or pig sty. A wooden plank built lean-to with corrugated steel roof is attached to the east bay, and would have functioned as a privy. {1}{2}
