Full Description

A linear magnetic anomaly was recorded in November 2014, during a magnetometry survey, conducted in advance of the proposed construction of a water pipeline between Wilsthorpe and Greatford. The anomaly was aligned on a north-west to south-east axis, and was interpreted as a former boundary ditch. No field boundaries are marked in this location on any of the historic Ordnance Survey map editions, however, and the ditch remains undated. It may possibly be associated with the Greatford Hall parkland (see PRN 39186), though this could not be confirmed. {1}
