An archaeological trial trench evaluation was carried out by Pre-Construct Archaeology in May 2005, on the site of a proposed residential development on land off Church Lane/Willington Road, Kirton. Six trenches were excavated - five 20m long, the other 10m long. The evaluation recorded late Saxon deposits, together with sporadic evidence of post medieval and modern activity. {1}{2}
