Description

Five trial trenches were excavated in on land off Roman Bank, Spalding prior to redevelopment of the site. 17th to 18th century finds were recovered which were interpreted as possibly evidence of deliberate infilling between Roman Bank and the river. One residual medieval pottery sherd was also found. {1}{2}
