A watching brief was carried out during groundworks associated with replacement or enhancement of existing fencing, provision of floodlights, creation of new paths and a new terrace, planting and the positioning of street furniture within the park. A medieval demolition layer thought to be associated with the dismantling of the priory was seen as well as evidence of post medieval landscaping. The site had already been disturbed by various 20th century service trenches and investigatory holes. {1}{2}
