Description

An auger survey consisting of eight boreholes sunk in a transect across the site was carried out for Lindsey Archaeological Services as part of a desk-based assessment. Deposits relating to the former course of the river Till and its northern bank close to where it entered the Brayford Pool were encountered. The survey also revealed that modern contamination and disturbance of the ground extends to a depth of at least 2m. {1}{2}
