An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks relating to improvements to the Norton Lane junction of the A15 at Bishop Norton. The watching brief monitored the reduction of the modern road surface and underlying deposits to a depth of 1.2m. In addition, the excavation of trenches to accommodate drainage pipes and manholes to the east and west of the road were monitored during the course of the wathcing brief.{1}{2}
