Description

A fluxgate gradiometer survey was carried out on a small area of the site of a proposed sand and gravel quarry extension at Tattershall Thorpe. The majority of anomalies detected appear to relate to the former use of the site as a WWII airfield. Others indicate a former boundary, however one ditch-like linear anomaly may be of earlier origin. {1} Trial trenching was carried out over the site and the anomalies were proved to be either modern or natural in origin. {2}{3}
