A fieldwalking survey was carried out as part of an Environmental Impact Assessment relating to a wind farm to be sited on circa 400ha of land, in order to assess the nature of any potential impact that groundworks may have on the archaeological resource. A 50m by 50m grid was marked out around each of the twenty proposed Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) sites, with the centre of each grid lying at the centre of each WTG. The sides of each grid were orientated north-south/east-west. Each grid was fieldwalked in six transects with 10m intervals.{1}{2} The proposed access tracks/cable runs were also walked, with two transects walked along each cable run, laid out to examine both sides of each section of boundary (the cable runs are intended to run along existing boundaries). Each transect maintained a 10m interval from the upper edge of the pertinent drain segment.{1}{2}
