Description

A fieldwalking survey was carried out on three of four fields involved in evaluation work prior to proposed quarry development, in order to assess the potential and significance of any remains on the site and to locate any further remains. Field 2 was not walked as it was given over to permanent pasture. Of the fields walked, visibility varied from very good to poor. Two proposed conveyor/haulage routes adjacent to the present quarry were also walked, but no artefacts were recovered. The fields were walked in 10m transects.{1}
