Description

An archaeological excavation was undertaken as part of the Fenland Management Project. A single trench measuring 50m by 10m was placed on the eastern limit of the sand island, extending into the later deposits which surrounded the exposed island area. The trench was placed within the surface finds scatter at the point where charcoal had been identified in augered samples.{1}
