Description

Trial trenching was carried out prior to proposed residential development. Two trenches measuring 4m by 4m were excavated. Trench 1 was located in the south-west of the site close to the culverted watercourse. Trench 2 was placed at the eastern end of the site to assess the likelihood of archaeological features surviving immediately to the rear of the medieval street frontage.{1}
