Description

A trial trench was excavated after fragments of human bone were recovered during retrieval of finds during a metal detecting rally. The trench was placed to investigate the probable presence of an inhumation. The trench was initially placed over the area from where the finds and bone fragments were recovered. However, the trench had to be extended when it was discovered that the orientation of the trench did not match the orientation of the burial.{1}
