Description

An archaeological watching brief was conducted during the demolition of the Church of St Edith, Little Carlton. The church was largely rebuilt and extensively restored in 1837, but has medieval origins. Remains of medieval fabric and features were noted during the demolition, along with a fragment from a late Saxon grave cover that had been re-used as part of the rubble fill of the nave south wall. {1}
