Description

Fieldwalking survey was carried out on circa 41ha of land as part of a programme of evaluation. The fields were walked on 20m transects, giving 5% coverage. Post medieval material was noted but not picked up. Animal bone was not picked up as it cannot be assigned to a specific archaeological period when retreived from the surface. Conditions were not ideal as much of the walked area had yet to be harrowed and one area in the north of the west field was still under crop.{1}
