Trial trenching was carried out on an area of ground measuring circa 9.4m by 7.2m, in order to investigate remains of the Roman wall. Two trenches were excavated, Trench 1 measuring 5.4m by 1.8m and Trench 2 measuring 3.8m by 1.8m. The positioning of both trenches was restricted by services pipelines. No archaeological features or finds were recorded.{1}
