Description

An archaeological excavation was undertaken prior to residential development. An area measuring circa 46m by 20m and an additional trench (Trench 6) measuring circa 1.5m by 10m were stripped. Trench 6 remained unexcavated as the remains exposed at circa 0.6m were considered unlikely to be affected by the development. The excavation was carried out to assess the preservation, extent, depth and date of archaeological remains exposed during a previous evaluation and those found in adjacent areas.{1}
