Trial trenching was undertaken on c.3150m squared of land prior to residential development of 24 dwellings. Three trenches were excavated, measuring 10m by 1.6m. Two were placed to investigate anomalies identified by a prior geophysical survey, and the third was placed to even out the trench distribution and to act as a control against the results of the geophysical survey. {1}
