Pieces of articulated human bone were noted in November 1999, during the digging of a new British Telecom cable trench along Church Street, Scothern. The remains were noted in the area of TF 03371 77392, to the immediate south of the current graveyard, and suggesting that the churchyard formerly extended a little distance further to the south than it currently does. No gravegoods or grave cut were noted by the works, however. {1}
