Description
A watching brief was undertaken during construction of an extension to Stoneybeck Cottage. No archaeological features were uncovered, and the presence of modern alterations to the base of the cottage walls prevented the building foundations being examined. Pottery of 18th century date was recovered, suggesting that the cottage dates from this period and existed prior to Enclosure in 1796. {1}{2}
