Description

A scheme of geotechnical investigation was carried out along part of the route of the Lincoln Eastern bypass between Wragby Road and Heighington Road. In view of the archaeological importance of the area it was decided to carry out a watching brief in conjunction with the geotechnical excavations. Pottery, including Roman and medieval sherds, was recovered from the topsoil but is not considered significant. {1}
