Description

A geophysical survey was conducted on land off Hawthorn Road, Cherry Willingham, to inform a proposed residential development. A group of pit-like features was identified in the vicinity of a possible palaeochannel, and a large possible pit was encountered at the northern edge of the survey area. The presence of ridge and furrow remains was noted across the site, and an area of stronger magnetic variation to the south was interpreted as the rubble backfill of a pond seen on historic Ordnance Survey maps. {1}
