A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during groundworks for the conversion to residential use of former healthcare facilities at Orchard House, Holbeach. The site was considered to be archaeologically sensitive as the location of the former Holbeach Union Workhouse. Layers of alluvial silts, demolition deposits and levelling layers were observed in the service trenches, but no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered. {1}{2}
