A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during groundworks for a new residential development on land at The Forge, Padmoor Lane, Upton. A brick-lined well of possible late 19th or early 20th century date was revealed, along with a number of mid 20th century waste pits, but no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered. {1}{2}
