Description
Following a geophysical survey scheme (ELI14531), a trial trenching evaluation was conducted in September of 2015 in advance of a proposed extension for the village of Witham St Hugh. An area of magnetic disturbance in the north of the site was found to be an Iron Age settlement site, and a ladder settlement in the south of the site was found to be of Roman date. No evidence for ridge and furrow or lighting array associated with RAF Swinderby was recorded. {1}{2}
