Description

A geophysical survey was conducted on land at the University of Lincoln's Riseholme campus to help inform future planning applications. A small number of discrete and linear anomalies were encountered, including at least one possible area of burning. A sub-circular feature at the southern end of the site was identified as a possible limestone quarry or, less likely, a ploughed out barrow. The presence of ridge and furrow traces was noted across the site, as was a probable northeast-southwest aligned palaeochannel. {1}
