A systematic archaeological field walking survey was conducted on land at Stamford West to inform a proposed planning application. A mixed assemblage of redeposited material was recovered during the survey, including 15 prehistoric flints including flakes and blades, 4 sherds of Roman pottery, 62 sherds of Medieval pottery, 4 pieces of Medieval ironworking slag, 5 fragments of Medieval ceramic building material, and 16 sherds of post-Medieval pottery. An analysis of aerial photography was also undertaken, and the presence of a cropmark enclosure and other linear cropmarks was noted. {1}{2}
