Description

A magnetometry survey was conducted on land at London Road, Sleaford, to inform proposed development of the site. A rectilinear enclosure with a sub-enclosure to its southwest were encountered, along with a number of probable field boundary ditches. Two loose groupings of possible pits were also encountered. {1} Subsequent trial trenching (ELI7199) and open excavation (ELI11057) revealed dense archaeology of Roman, Saxon and Medieval date on the site.
