Seven trial trenches were excavated on land to the east of Toot Lane, Fishtoft, to inform the proposed residential development of the site. A possibly early-mid Saxon posthole, and a pit and gully terminus of assumed late Medieval date were encountered. None of these features correspond to the anomalies identified in the previous geophysical survey (see ELI14090). Post-Medieval or early modern field boundaries were also noted across the site. {1}{2}
