Description

Historic graffiti at the Church of St Lawrence was recorded by the Lincolnshire Medieval Graffiti Project. The survey identified a large number of historic marks, including a substantial number of mason's marks, several Mary marks, and several hexfoil circles. A large number of names, dates and initials were also recorded, particularly around the tower at the western end of the church. Many faint and more enigmatic marks were also recorded, including a possible ship graffito on one of the south-western interior pillars. {1}
