A programme of historic building recording was conducted during the conversion to residential use of The Old Smithy, Eastfields, Bishop Norton. The building is a single-storey former smithy, built of limestone rubble and thought to date to the mid-19th century, or possibly earlier. Various 20th century external modifications of the building were identified during the recording, and it was noted that the interior had very few original internal or specialist fittings and fixtures remaining. {1}{2}
