Description

An archaeological excavation was conducted as part of the Heritage Open Days programme of events at the Church of St Peter, Lenton. The excavation uncovered a medieval grave slab, which was decorated with a 13th century alisee pattee cross design. A small assemblage of redeposited medieval and post-medieval artefacts was also recovered, including some disarticulated fragments of human bone. {1}
