Description

A detailed gradiometery survey was conducted to inform proposed residential development on land at Middlegate Road West, Kirton (the site is actually in Frampton parish, however). Remains of probable medieval ridge and furrow were recorded across much of the surveyed area. A small number of linear and discrete anomalies, thought to represent the possible remains of ditches and pits of uncertain origin, were also identified in the south-eastern corner of the site. {1} Subsequent trial trenching in this area resolved the anomalies in the south-eastern corner of the site as probable recent disturbance (see ELI13265).
