A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during a second phase of groundworks to refurbish and widen the runway at RAF Waddington. The monitoring was targeted to focus only on those areas where the runway crossed the projected line of the former Roman Ermine Street. No deposits pre-dating the construction of the airfield were recorded, however, and no archaeological features or finds were encountered. {1}{2}
